The Nassau Street Hockey League was started back in 2000 by Canadian ex-pats and local Bahamians. What started in the Royal Bank parking lot is now played on an official sized rink at the Sand Trap Restaurant & Bar. League games are played every Wednesday night at 8pm under the lights. Exhibition / pick-up games are played every Monday night at 8pm and everyone is welcome to participate.

A controversial draft is held each year to decide each teams roster. The league is currently made up of four teams that battle throughout the season for the ultimate prize … the Stanley Conch. Regular hockey rules apply with the exception of hitting and slapshots. Games are 60 minutes long, consisting of three 20 minute periods.
